Our mission

At Hikedex, we believe that everyone deserves to experience the peace and beauty of nature, away from the noise of everyday life.

Our goal is to help you find the most serene and picturesque natural spots across the UK—places where you can truly unwind and reconnect with the outdoors.

We created this platform because, like you, we value the tranquility that only nature can offer.

What we do

Hikedex provides an extensive database of ~105k hills, woodlands, and hidden gems across the UK, each scored for:

• Peacefulness

  A rating from 0-10 of how peaceful the spot is, based on noise from nearby roads.

• View analysis

  Analysis of the view's coverage. Including a 360° score, an east score, and a west score.

What's next

We're currently in early access, and we're working hard to expand our database and improve our scoring system.

Some features we're currently working on include:

• Sunrise / sunset suitable spots (based on the view to the east/west)
• Detailed descriptions of each spot, powered by AI
• Increasing the number of named spots in our database
• Activity tags (i.e. wild camping, birdwatching, wild swimming)
